Numerical Study for Blood Flows in Thoracic Aorta
نویسندگان
چکیده
Abstract Numerical simulations for blood flows related to cardiovascular diseases are presented. Differences in vessel morphologies produce different flow characteristics, stress distributions, and ultimately outcomes. Some examples illustrating the effects of curvature torsion on presented both simplified patient-specific simulations. The goal this study is understand relationships between geometrical characteristics vessels behaviors.

Thoracic Aorta
Chronic hyperinsulinemia is suspected of enhancing the development of arterial diseases. However, direct metabolic effects of insulin on the inner arterial wall are poorly documented. To assess the possible influence of variations in smooth muscle phenotype, we measured lipogenesis from glucose by rat thoracic aortas that had been injured with a balloon catheter. Aortas were exposed to insulin ...
متن کاملHemoptysis as a Rare Presentation of Thoracic Aorta Aneurysm
Hemoptysis is the rarest presentation of thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA).This critical condition is one of the life-threatening medical emergencies. Even with prompt approaches, TAA can have highly terrible outcomes. Although TAA is an almost asymptomatic condition that is accidentally discovered, imaging with contrast is the most useful modality to diagnosis it.
متن کاملComputed Tomography Study of Thoracic Aorta in the Cat
Computed tomography (СТ) with contrast enhancement allows a detailed anatomical description of feline thoracic aorta. For this purpose, 14 sexually mature clinically healthy domestic cats weighing 2.9 to 4.0 kg were investigated. The animals were anaesthetized and fixed in dorsal recumbency on a СТ table (Tomoscan, CX/Q, Siemens). Consequent transversal 5 mm cross-sections were made along the t...
